Patrick J. Ronayne, Assistant Coach

Pat is entering his 29th year as an Assistant Coach with Cranbrook and his 26th as an Assistant Coach on Andy Weidenbach’s staff.  His responsibilities include assisting with the coaching the defensemen, public relations, managing the MIHL website and easing the transition for new members of the staff.

Pat graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School (1966) where he lettered in hockey for three years.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois where he also participated in hockey for three years.  One of the highlights for both Pat and Andy during their high school coaching experience was having their sons Andy Jr. and Justin on the staff at CK in the 2007 – 2010 timeframe.

“Pat is one of the mainstays of the CK Hockey program, he’s actually been here for three more years than me.  His performance over the years has been the true definition of assistant – he does whatever it takes to support the program.  Everything he does, he does professionally and thoroughly.  Last but not least, he makes me look thinner and younger.  You can’t ask for much more than that,” said Andy Weidenbach.
