John LaFontaine is in his initial season as the Head Coach for the CK Boys Varsity Hockey Team and his second year as Manager of the Wallace Ice Arena.
While at Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep School (2007 – 2014) he gained valuable experience fulfilling his roles and responsibilities as Athletic Director, Sports Complex Manager and Head Hockey Coach.
His hockey coaching experience has been extensive and successful: USHL, NAHL, Junior “A” Tier II and collegiate: Lake Superior State University.
John started out playing Junior hockey in the Great Lakes Junior League with Fraser (GIJHL) and played in both the WHL and the OHL.
John graduated from Miami University (Class of 1987).
His enthusiasm and positive attitude combined with his strong work ethic and excellent communication skills make John a welcome addition to both the Cranbrook Schools and the Hockey program.
